Course Year Rating Review
intro to philosophy 2010 Most interesting class with the best professor. Take it, even if it's outside your major!
phil 100 introduction to philosophy (5) i&s 2008 Intro to Phil. with Ann Baker is the best philosophy course ever. She is really energetic and enthusiastic, and she really tries to involve everybody in discussion. After her lectures many confusing philosophical problems became much clearer to me. Her lectures don’t feel like huge class with no access to the prof. The material is structured well. Exams are easy and writing is also not that difficult. She teaches you to think analytically.
PHIL 100 Introduction to Philosophy (5) I&S BonJour, Rosenthal 2009 Boring but very easy.
phil 120 introduction to logic (5) i&s/nw, qsr 2007 This is a busy course, but if you do all the homework you will be rewarded for that. Prof. Fine teaches it great, he is knowledgeable, and he also grades nicely. Everybody likes his system of quizzes. The class is much easier in comparison with traditional math classes.
PHIL 120 Introduction to Logic (5) I&S/NW, QSR BonJour, Cohen, Fine, Keyt, Weller 2008 Was a very easy class. The homework makes you learn. It is much harder than the tests, which is why you get good grades with Professor Fine. He has us use a good textbook too.
PHIL 240 Introduction to Ethics (5) I&S/VLPA Roberts, Smith, Talbott 2009 There is a lot of reading for this course and even if you put in the time and effort needed to do well in other classes its very hard to get a 4.0
PHIL 242 Introduction to Medical Ethics (5) I&S/VLPA 2009 Interesting information learned in class. Exams were a few multiple choice, short answer and an essay. However, the study guide provides everything you need to know for the exam (including the essay questions).
PHIL 267 Introduction to Philosophy of Religion (5) I&S Clataterbaugh, Coburn 2009 Very interesting course!
PHIL 267 Introduction to Philosophy of Religion (5) I&S Clataterbaugh, Coburn 2009 LOVE IT
PHIL 340 History of Ancient Ethics (5) I&S/VLPA Keyt, Roberts 2008 This class was an open discussion class and had group presentations on cases in a textbook. Current events were discussed in class that related to the topics we were studying. Everyone was motivated and encouraged to speak on behalf of what they thought.
